ENCODER

The tuning of radios and other gauges is controlled by a encoder often dual and together to a pushswitch with a rotary switch. A big headache consider that these should be "2-bit gray type with a 1/4 cycle per detent" to operate directly with IOCards (Master Card)!

There are anyway some encoder (not dual) that work correctly with IOCARD like these:

• CTS               CTS288
• Bourns           ECW1J-B24-BC0006L
• Electroswitch  690-701-04-16

For other encoder type will be necessary a Opencockpits Encoder card; for example these are the "Dual Rotary Encoder" most used: ALPS EC11EBB24C03 and ELMA E37 and one here very little (only 12mm) from Sure Electronics on ebay.

In my case for radios panels, I've made self a dual rotary encoder combining two "Bourns ECW1J-B24-BC0006L" that work directly with Master Card; no much hard to build consider that for radios panels is no need the pushbutton integrated.
